The IMPACT GEENAGE project, co-coordinated since 2016 by Professors Jean-Yves JOUZEAU (UMR7365 IMoPA) and Patrick ROSSIGNOL (UMR_S 1116 DCAC, INI-CRCT network), is a structuring research project that is part of the IMPACT program of the Lorraine University of Excellence (LUE) initiative.
It is the flagship scientific project of the Health and Aging socio-economic challenge. In order to be consistent with the structuring initiatives in health already accredited on the Lorraine site, this project was initially developed with a double objective:
- To converge the Hospital-University federations CARTAGE (Cardiac & ARTerial AGEing) and ARRIMAGE (Digestive & OsteoARticular Remodeling-Inflammation-Immunomodulation-Metabolism in diseased AGEing) towards a common objective of prevention of normal and pathological aging, focusing on the late repercussions of early events such as exposure in utero to certain metabolic deficiencies, the existence of cardiovascular risk factors or chronic inflammatory diseases;
- Strengthen the links between health research and digital sciences, in particular to model certain biological processes and better exploit massive or complex data.
The project has been structured into four thematic research axes and one transversal research axis dedicated to digital technology.
In practice, it appeared essential to strengthen interaction with the socio-economic world and the humanities and social sciences, which led to the creation of 5 competence centers with a vocation to lead collaborative initiatives in these fields of action.
