Internal call for projects “Incentive Projects 2026 - Support for research activities - BMS cluster funding - UL”

The internal call for projects “Incentive Projects 2026 - Support for Research Activities - BMS Cluster Funding - UL” has just been launched.

Terms and conditions :

• This call for projects is intended to fund emerging scientific projects led by young researchers.
• The application must not exceed €15,000 (€12,000 for operating costs and €3,000 for investment).
• The projects submitted must not be the subject of any other funding whatsoever.  
• Project leaders, research fellows or lecturers (interns or tenured), research engineers with HDR (permanent contract, ONR or UL) must have been recruited after January 1, 2016.
• Project leaders selected for the "2025 Incentive Projects - Support for research activities - BMS cluster credits - UL" call for proposals are not eligible.
• Ineligible expenses are :
•    - Internship allowances;
•    - Training costs;
•    - Personal expenses (fixed-term contracts; doctoral students; post-doctoral students);
•    - Reception expenses;
•    - Mission expenses.

Proof of expenditure will be requested at the end of the project.

Submission requirements :

 Complete applications (in Word format) must be submitted by midnight on Friday, March 20, 2026, via the application submission portal : https://appel-projets-ul-epst-region.univ-lorraine.fr/ under the internal AAP program of the BMS Scientific Division.

Calendar :

• Monday, February 16, 2026: Launch of the “incentive projects” call for proposals.
• Friday, March 20, 2026: Submission deadline (closing date for applications).
• March-April 2026: Submission of applications to external experts and return of expert assessments.
• May 2026: Validation of final ranking by the BMS Council.
• End of 2026: Presentation of selected applications by project leaders, open to members of the BMS Cluster.
